Scholarship Opportunities
Black Women’s Educational Alliance (BWEA) Philadelphia Chapter will award three $500 scholarships to current high school seniors in a Philadelphia public or charter school. Must complete an application which includes a 300 words or less essay explaining how your major of study or degree will positively contribute to society (must be times new roman, 12-font, double-spaced). You will also need a transcript and college acceptance letter. See Ms. Senner for an application.
The Thomas W. O’Brien Memorial Scholarship is a $1,500 scholarship available for a career and technical education student enrolled in a secondary CTE program in Pennsylvania and planning to attend a post-secondary institution majoring in a career and technical field.The scholarship application is attached and is also available by going to http://www.pa-acte.org or www.cte.iup.edu/scholarship.Applications must be postmarked by Thursday, April 30, 2015.Questions? SENIORS: The Schoolmen's Club of Philadelphia announces the "Bob Schiller Memorial Scholarship" for a very deserving public high senior. Students must demonstrate academic excellence and show evidence of progress over the last two years. Two letters of recommendation by either the principal and/or counselor as well as a teachers, and essay of no more than 300 words descriging a "turning point in his/her life" that has set him/her on the road to post high school education; brief description of community service and college acceptance letter. See Ms. Senner for an application. Deadline is APril 17, 2015
The Urban League of Philadelphia will be awarding two $1,000 scholarships for students who display extraordinary talent in the field of the Arts. You must have a 2.7 GPA or higher to apply. You will need a completed application, transcript and a 500-750 word essay outlining who or what has been the major influence in your life so far and how that influence is shaping your decision to go to college or what field of study to pursue. See Ms. Senner for an application. Application deadline is March 13, 2015
DUNKIN' DONUTS announces the 6th Annual Dunkin' Donuts Philadelphia Regional Scholarship Program. There will be 25 scholarships in the amount of $2,000. The scholarship is open to students going to a technical/trade school or a two or four-year college. To acccess the online application go to: www.dunkindonuts.com/scholarship. The Scholarship Committee of The Ivy Legacy Foundation (TILF) is currently accepting applications for a variety of scholarships. Applications are available at www.ivylegacy.org or through Ms. Senner in Room 147. The amount of the scholarships range from $500 - $2,000.
